General Information
The active ingredient in Rafen is ibuprofen which assists in the relief of pain and inflammation
For the temporary relief of pain and/or inflammation associated with:
- headache, migraine headache, tension headache
- period pain
- dental pain
- back pain and arthritic pain
- cold and flu symptoms. Also reduces fever.
- Suitable For: For adults and children 7 years and older
Directions
- Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 or 2 tablets initially taken with fluid, then 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as necessary. Maximum of 6 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children 7 to 12 years (22 to 41kg): 1 tablet every 6 to 8 hours as necessary. Maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days, consult your doctor.
Warnings
Do not use:
- In children 6 years of age or less
- If you have a stomach ulcer, impaired kidney function or heart failure.
- If you are allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory medicines. If you get an allergic reaction, stop taking and consult your doctor immediately.
- If trying to become pregnant, or during the first 6 months of pregnancy, except on doctor's advice. Do not use at all during the last 3 months of pregnancy.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Do not use for more than a few days at a time unless a doctor has told you to.
- Excessive use can be harmful and increase the risk of heart attack, stoke or liver damage
- Unless advised by your doctor, do not use:
- If you are taking other medicines regularly
- If you are taking other medicines containing aspirin, ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory medicines
- If you have asthma
- In children suffering from dehydration through diarrhoea and/or vomiting
