Somac Heartburn Relief 20mg 7 Coated Tablets

Somac Heartburn Relief is used for lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). These symptoms can be caused by “washing back” (reflux) of food and acid from the stomach into the food pipe, also known as the oesophagus. Reflux can cause a burning sensation in the chest rising to the throat, also known as heartburn. Frequent heartburn is when you have heartburn for two or more days a week. Heartburn that occurs frequently is a typical symptom of GORD.

Directions

Adults 18 years of age and older:

• Take one tablet daily. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.
• Take for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. This pack has only 7 days supply. If you need to use for longer than 7 days, ask your pharmacist for advice.
• Do not take beyond 14 days without consulting your doctor.
• Not intended for immediate relief.

Ingredients

Active Ingredient in each tablet: Pantoprazole…20mg (as Sodium Sesquihydrate)

Warnings

This preparation is for the relief of minor and temporary ailments and should be used strictly as directed.
If symptoms persist, worsen or recur within two week of completing the course, consult a doctor.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking other medicines regularly.

Do not use if:

• You are pregnant/breastfeeding or may become pregnant/wish to start breastfeeding, expect on medical advice.
• You are allergic to pantoprazole or other pronton pump inhibitors.
• You have severe liver disease or cirrhosis.
• You are taking Atazanavir (an anti-viral medication).
• You have recently had trouble swallowing, persistent vomiting or experienced unintended weight loss.
• You have recently had blak stools or have vomite blood.
• You are under 18 years of age.
• The expiry date has passed or foil blister is damaged.
